National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day
was established to support and thank our law enforcement officers for their dedication and service to their communities.
The month of May is recognized as National Law Enforcement Appreciation Month. The 15th of May is National Peace Officers Memorial Day, and the week in which May 15th falls is National Police Week.
International Firefighters Day
The third Saturday of every September is recognized as National Thank a Police Officer Day.
September 11th, or Patriot Day, is an excellent time to honor first responders. Over 400 first responders lost their lives that day in 2001 as they were working to save lives.
National Police Woman Day
The third Sunday in October is National Police Officers' Spouses' Day. This is a great opportunity to reach out to law enforcement families by recognizing the spouses who support them.
October 28th is National First Responders Day. This is an excellent time to honor those who are always there for us when we need them most.
When most families are gathered around their turkey dinner, First Responders are working. This is a great day to say "thanks" to them and show them some kindness.
First Responders work around the clock, 24/7, 365 days a year...that includes Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. These are excellent times to let them know they are not forgotten.
